Description

Description for part number 238-0120

Description:
Cat current loop speed sensors operate on the same Hall effect principle as the single and dual Hall effect sensors. Unlike our traditional single and dual Hall sensors which are specified to produce a particular voltage output, the current loop sensors are specified to produce particular current level outputs. Since there is always current flowing through the sensor (sometimes less, sometimes more depending on whether a tooth or slot is in front of the sensor), the system can use diagnostics to detect if the sensor is connected.

Attributes:
• Two Hall elements (differential Hall setup)
• One output, 2 wires (power, signal)
• Current loop sensors are the preferred, lowest cost active speed sensors
• Available in fixed nose length only

Applications:
• Used where zero speed or near-zero speed detection is required.
• Transmission output Speed
• Speed
• Timing
• Propulsion motors
